HOME DESCRIPTION:
With attention to green remodeling practices, the LaFleur Residence is a comfortable and quiet home with vintage Oak Park charm. Over a period of 10 years, this home originally built in 1912 has been completely gutted and redone in the vintage craftsman style with modern amenities. Consideration was given to reusing materials as framing was reused throughout the renovation, as well as vintage doors to maintain the character of the home. Durable, healthy materials were also utilized to avoid maintenance with harmful products and ensure healthy indoor air quality.
Every effort was taken to make the LaFleur Residence as energy and water efficient as possible. Updates include new electric, plumbing, tankless water heater, foam and cellulose insulation, low flow plumbing fixtures, programmable thermostats, 100% green power, and more in this green building renovation. The building ventilation system includes a RenewAire ERV, which provide efficient fresh air ventilation throughout the home.
With almost no turfgrass the native landscaping creates a private lush garden. The rain garden, French drain, and multiple rain barrels also help keep stormwater on site.
