Walls typically have the greatest surface area in a home so addressing the walls early on avoids the need for air leakage repairs later.

  1. Are your walls airtight at windows, doors, penetrations, and connections to the walls and roofs?

Use sealant and/or foam to seal everything.

Remove finish, add exterior insulation, airtightness, and new finish.

Remove existing finish, add airtightness, thermal breaks, and more insulation.

5. Are your walls framed?

Fill the cavities and plan for future interior or exterior retrofit.
