Lloyd’s Home at the Landings
Home Square Footage: 1900
Home Description: The Lloyd’s have been greening their home over time! In 2021 they did their biggest project yet by adding solar panels to account for over 100% of their residential electrical usage. The Lloyd’s moved into their home in 2006 and have tried to do a sustainable improvement each year. Some of the sustainable improvements they have made are new roof, dual flush toilets; high efficiency air conditioner and furnace, flooring replacements with Floorscore & CRI Green Label Plus products; replacement of all windows and doors, energy star appliances, water sense faucets, low VOC paint, LED lighting for main floor, rain barrel, outdoor composters, indoor electric composter, lots of materials reuse with furnishing, and avoiding chemicals of concern in the windows.
The Lloyd’s hired contractors for the solar, the basement, windows, and door, and some of the flooring. This home is a great example of how to green your home over time. They have taken on a project nearly every year for the last 12 or 13 years, and we have a list of what is coming next.
